Mission statement
Moving Parts Press publishes handsome and innovative books, broadsides and prints under the direction of Felicia RIce. These editions of new literature, works in translation, and contemporary art explore the relationship of word and image, typography and the visual arts, the fine arts and popular culture.

Editorial policy
Felicia Rice collaborates with visual artists, performing artists and writers to create book structures in which word and image meet and merge. She employs traditional typography and bookmaking methods in conjunction with digital technology, bringing the flexibility of screen-based design to the texture and history of the letterpress-printed page. She is pursuing the following areas of inquiry.

Literatura Chicana / Latina Artists' Books
This series explores the intersection of cultures, disciplines and book structures. This series of contemporary Chicano/Latino artists and writers in translation is issued in both limited and trade editions. Each book is the result of a close collaboration between writer, artist and book artist, Felicia Rice.

Literatura Chicana / Latina Chapbooks
This series documents Chicano/Latino cultural events and readings in the form of inexpensive books which can be readily produced as needed using laser and letterpress printing.

Livres d'artiste
Among the crowning achievements of the twentieth-century book are the French livres-d'artiste, specially produced limited editions integrating the visual and poetic text. This series of publications interprets the original French livres d'artiste for contemporary audiences.

Submissions policy
Moving Parts Press is not accepting unsolicited manuscripts at this time. Rice says, "As a small publisher, I have found that I can design, print and publish one limited edition book, and its related trade edition, every two years at best. Somehow I manage to maintain a small chapbook series, with new books appearing at uneven intervals. I wish I had the ability to undertake more projects."
