In the fifth book in Moving Parts Press's Chicano/Latino Series, Felicia is collaborating once more with performance artist and writer Guillermo Gomez-Pena and art historian and critic Jennifer Gonzalez, as well as filmmaker Gustavo Vazquez and sound artist/ engineer Zachary Watkins. A 2009 Rydell award made it possible to realize ideas in development since 2007.
The book features Guillermo's performance texts and Felicia's relief prints and expressive typography, accompanied by Jennifer's critical commentary. It will be housed in a hi-tech metal box containing a DVD, an altar, and ritual items such as custom-made Mexican wrestling masks. Opening the box and handling the objects within will trigger sound. |
